Guided Big Game Hunts
In the Heart of Southwest Colorado

Thin double angled white lines on a black background.

We are a full-time, family-run outfitting company offering guided hunts, drop camps, and packing services for elk, deer, mountain lion, bobcat, desert bighorn sheep, and black bear. We keep our groups small at 4 to 5 hunters, so every guest gets the attention and service they deserve. Settle into our lodge with home-cooked meals waiting after a long day in the field, or spend your nights under the Colorado stars. Either way, you're in for an experience worth coming back for.

Named Colorado's 2025 Outfitter of the Year

Recognized by Colorado Outfitters Magazine as the state's top outfitter for 2025 — a reflection of the land we work, the clients we guide, and the standard we hold every season. It's an honor that belongs to the country we call home as much as the people who help us share it.

Our hunts take place in a remote stretch of Southwest Colorado within Game Management Units 61, 70, and S64. Early season archery and muzzleloader hunts run at higher elevations where animals spend their summers. As temperatures drop and snow builds, we move lower, tracking game as it descends. Most hunts operate within GMU 61 and 70.

“Between the two of us, my father-in-law and I have about a dozen guided hunts under our belt and we both agreed that this one was the best. Knight Canyon Outfitters was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of harvesting a bull elk in what is probably the most beautiful part of Colorado. The accommodations were first rate and no details were overlooked. From the time that we arrived at the lodge to the time that the elk was in the cooler, Bill and his family were there to take care of our every need. We are definitely coming back for another hunt.”

"Knight Canyon Outfitters gave my father and I the trip of a lifetime, Besides being immersed in beautiful Colorado, we had a fantastic experience hunting elk for the first time. My father and I each tagged a bull elk and were thrilled to bring the trophies home. Bill and his family provided outstanding hospitality and treated us like family, We enjoyed staying at the lodge and the food was delicious. My father and I are looking forward to returning to Knight Canyon Outfitters for more hunting experiences"

"What an amazing mountain lion hunting experience! It was the bow hunt of a lifetime. My family gave this guided hunt as a gift and booked it with Knight Canyon Outfitters. Bill and Wade were amazing and patient. They have a fantastic working knowledge of the area and the game they hunt. The dogs were well trained and wouldn't stop until the cat was treed. The memories from that hunt are some that I will remember forever. I would highly recommend booking with Knight Canyon. You will not be disappointed."

"My wife and I hunted Elk and Mule Deer with Knight Canyon Outfitters. This was my second time hunting with Bill. He and his family are welcoming and showed us a great time. We really enjoy the beautiful country and being able to get the full western hunting experience. I was able to harvest a mature bull the first trip out there. Our second and most recent trip ended with me harvesting my first Mule deer buck and my wife harvesting a mature 6x6 bull elk with a shot at 885 yards. Neither me, my wife, or Bill were able to contain our excitement when the elk went down just 10 feet from where he was shot. Being from Michigan, the higher elevation that you encounter in the mountains can be challenging. Bill had no problem accommodating for this while still getting us in great hunting locations and on game. We would highly recommend Knight Canyon Outfitters to anyone looking to hunt western big game."

Scouting Report

Thin double angled white lines on a black background.

Our thorough pre-season scouting is what puts you on the biggest animals in our units. We know where the elk, deer, and predators move as the seasons shift, starting high in the fall where animals spent the summer, then tracking them lower as cold weather and snowfall push the herds down. Some hunts, like mountain lion and bobcat, are best run after a fresh snow when tracks are fresh and the dogs can do their work. We do the legwork before you arrive so you can focus on the hunt.
